Exercise Smexercise

Well I started my workout again, but didn’t do anything just told myself I’ll get started with my plan tomorrow or Monday. Isn’t that how it always works? First you have the idea that you are going to get on track with getting in shape and being able to at least run a mile without stopping to walk because you are out of breath. You even pack your bag with the clothes you plan to wear at the gym and take them to the office with you so you don’t have to stop by the house because if you do, you know you are going to get comfortable and open a beer or have a glass of wine to swallow the day. You might even get halfway through the day with the idea that you are still going to the gym. Then all hell breaks loose…

Something clicks in your brain that causes you to blow off the gym, drink a half-case of Bud Light (because light beer is better on your body than the full flavor Budweiser), and eat 24 wings and some pizza. I’ve been doing this for a little over two years now and the funny thing about it is that it’s not the working out part that is the hard part. The hard part is getting to the gym! Once you are there, you can simply walk, get on the elliptical, heck, even shoot some hoop!

Today is the day I push myself to go. Set a schedule that is convenient for work and family and stick to it. With that said, I guess I will have an update for you next week…
